The Rail Freight Forward coalition, is the first action when rail freight companies from across Europe are joining forces to speak with one voice about how Europe can gain advantage by rail. Not only for the European economy but also for the people living in Europe. We have to take up on all efforts to reach the climate goals of the Paris Agreement.
Although transport is often discussed, and has been part of the COP 24 conferences, too often the focus is on passenger transport, while freight transport is at the same time the backbone of the European economy and amounts to a third of all CO2 emissions.
Since this is a huge part for a sector and at the same time needed to support the economy, we need to push rethinking.
Freight transport on rails, however, has an enormous potential due to its climate friendliness and efficiencies in the climate change battle.
The Rail Freight Forward coalition is bringing European rail freight companies together, to reach one common goal: Pushing Rail Freight Forward as the solution to fight against climate change.
